School Business ManagerOne of our prestigious schools is seeking a highly motivated and experienced School Business Manager to join our team in Wirral. This is a vital senior leadership position responsible for the strategic management of the school's finances, human resources, facilities, and administration. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our school operates efficiently and effectively to support the best possible outcomes for our students.Pay: £40-£45,000/ year (negotiable, based on experience)Main Duties:
  • Financial Management: Oversee all aspects of the school budget, including financial planning, reporting, and monitoring. You'll be responsible for procurement, contracts, and ensuring value for money in all school expenditures.
  • Human Resources: Lead HR functions, including recruitment, payroll, performance management, and staff welfare. You'll ensure compliance with all employment legislation and maintain the Single Central Record.
  • Facilities and Premises: Manage the school's site and buildings, overseeing maintenance, health and safety, and any new building projects. This includes managing external contractors and ensuring the school is a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Administration: Supervise the school's administrative team, ensuring efficient systems and processes for data management, communications, and statutory returns to the DfE and Local Authority.

ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful financial and business management, preferably within a school setting.Essential:
  • Proven experience in a senior or middle management position.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of budget management and financial procedures.
  • Experience with human resources and personnel management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of proficiency in IT, particularly with financial software and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
  • A professional qualification in business management, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience using school management information systems like SIMS or Arbor.
  • Knowledge of education sector regulations and funding mechanisms.
