Hours: 25 hours a week (part time) term time only
Pay: £30-35 per hourWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate tutor (with QTS) to support a 11-year-old autistic child with ASD, SEMH needs. This is is a unique and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's life by creating a positive and responsive learning environment. You will be working two-to-one with the young person, primarily within a home and school as well based in Shepherd's Bush and West London. This role will require some planning and feedback to be delivered to the school and parents.Tutor Role:Based in Shepherd's Bush / West London this part time tutor role will involve working with teachers delivering and differentiating the bespoke curriculum that will be delivered to the student, alongside a mentor. It will be essential to ensure the tutor has strong behaviour management skills. This student is attending a mainstream school and will have extra support whilst in school from a 1.1 Mentor and a tutor.Tutor Key Responsibilities:
  • Willingness to be flexible, this tuition may take place in school sometimes or in the home
Deliver a differentiated curriculum working alongside the students teachers in his subjects (year 7 level)Build trust and emotional safety by attuning to the YP's pace and preferencesUse positive, non-directive methods to support learning and engagementRespect and support the YP's independence while remaining available to step in before overwhelmIdentify and anticipate sensory and emotional triggersEncourage initiation, allow time for processing, and offer flexible choicesPromote emotional regulation through calm and consistent presenceBe willing to accompany the YP to safe and familiar places that support well being and learning * Participate in 2 hours of a chosen weekly physical activityEssential Qualities:
  • QTS or equivalent
