Their reputation as an employee-focused business has driven year-on-year growth, and they continue to expand their expert team.The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects within the development and planning sector, with a strong emphasis on Green Infrastructure, Natural Capital, Biodiversity Net Gain, and Urban Greening. As a Senior Ecologist, you will play a strategic role in managing complex ecology projects, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to the company’s continued success.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage complex ecological projects, often involving multiple protected species.
  • Provide technical expertise on Green Infrastructure and Urban Biodiversity.
  • Undertake tender production, client liaison, financial management, and survey programming.
  • Conduct unique urban biodiversity projects, such as ecological monitoring of living roofs and green infrastructure strategy production.
  • Mentor junior ecologists and undertake technical reviews.
  • Support business development and contribute to company strategy.
About You
  • Minimum of 4 years' professional experience in ecology consultancy.
  • Degree in ecology, biology, environmental science, or a related discipline (MSc desirable).
  • MCIEEM accreditation and CEnv or CEcol (desirable).
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach.
  • Full UK driver’s licence and access to a car.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Enthusiastic about nature conservation and ecological innovation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support ecological surveys.
  • Hold a European Protected Species Licence for bats and experience with EPSM licence preparation and delivery.
  • Knowledge of Green Infrastructure and Urban Biodiversity (desirable).
