- Leadership and Management: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of maintenance personnel and contractors. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained, performance is regularly reviewed, and development opportunities are identified and actioned.
- Maintenance Operations: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of maintenance schedules for all mechanical, electrical, and structural aspects of the facility. Ensure that preventive maintenance is carried out effectively to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, building codes, and other legal or regulatory requirements. Implement and manage safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and visitors.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for hard services, including maintenance costs, contractor fees, and procurement of materials and equipment. Ensure efficient use of resources to achieve cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
- Project Management: Lead on the planning and execution of maintenance projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers as necessary.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all matters relating to hard services. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, team members, and service providers.
- A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience in hard services management, preferably within a facilities management environment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance, and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent project management, budgeting, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to respond to out-of-hours emergencies.
- The role may require occasional travel to other sites or offices.
