A leading college in Hornchurch is seeking a committed and empathetic Pastoral Tutor to provide high-quality support to learners aged 16+.📍 Location: Hornchurch💰 Rate: £20 per hour🕒 Hours: Full-Time (Monday to Friday)📅 Contract: Temporary - OngoingRole Overview:As a Pastoral Tutor, you will play a key role in supporting students with their personal, emotional, and academic wellbeing. Working within a college environment, you'll help learners navigate challenges, stay on track, and engage positively with their studies.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group pastoral sessions
  • Support students facing barriers to education (mental health, attendance, safeguarding, behaviour)
  • Liaise with curriculum staff, support teams, and external agencies
  • Monitor attendance and engagement, implementing intervention strategies
  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive college culture
Candidate Profile:
  • Experience in a pastoral, mentoring, or student support role (preferably within post-16 education)
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by college-age learners
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Calm, approachable, and resilient under pressure
  • Enhanced DBS required (or willingness to obtain one)
