​Job descriptionOpportunity for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join a BRAND NEW home based in Littlehampton.This pioneering project offers a nurturing, homely, and safe environment for up to three children (aged 10-18) with emotional and behavioural difficulties.We believe in:Supporting their success in education, employment, and community integration.Making a positive and lasting difference in their lives.Empowering them to achieve better lives and outcomes.Believing in children and their potential.When children leave the home, we want them to feel confident, prepared, and ready to embrace their future with optimism.Senior Key Responsibilities:Build strong, positive, and meaningful relationships with children.Develop and implement individualised strength-based plans.Advocate for children, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.Support children in their educational, training, and employment aspirations.Facilitate and participate in hobbies, interests, and recreational activities.Ensure children's health and well-being by managing appointments and liaising with healthcare professionals.Promote emotional and mental well-being through positive interactions and therapeutic practices.Maintain a safe, secure, and homely environment.Uphold safeguarding and protection protocols.Keep accurate, timely, and detailed records.Act as a role model, demonstrating best practices in childcare and professional conduct.Your Role:As a Senior team member, you will:Lead & Support - Supervise and mentor Residential Childcare Practitioners, providing guidance and leadership.Team Coordination - Organise and lead team meetings to ensure smooth communication and collaboration.Operational Support - Assist the Registered Manager with administrative and operational duties.On-Call Duties - Take responsibility for on-call support when needed.Child-Centred Casework - Oversee case management, ensuring each child's unique needs are met.What We're Looking For:Compassion & Empathy- A warm, understanding, and non-judgmental approach.Child Safeguarding Knowledge- A strong commitment to keeping children safe.Understanding of Developmental Trauma- Awareness of its impact and how to support affected children.Behaviour Management Skills- Confidence in handling challenging situations and de-escalating conflicts.Experience & Leadership- At leasttwo yearsof experience working with children or young people, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities.Minimum Age:22 years.Qualifications Level 3 Residential Childcare.
Excellent Communication & Organisation Skills- The ability to engage effectively with both children and colleagues.Hours & Benefits:Full-time role following a structured 3-week rolling rota .
