Vickerstock are working in partnership with a leading organisation on the appointment of a Health & Safety Advisor.As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the Compliance & Sustainability team and ensuring group-wide Health & Safety objectives are achieved.In your new role:
  • Supporting the delivery of the organisation's growth strategy, embedding compliance and promoting a positive safety culture across all sites
  • Working closely with production and distribution teams to develop a strong understanding of operations to enable effective risk assessment and safety planning
  • Completing scheduled depot compliance audits, ensuring health & safety controls are effectively implemented, maintained and documented
  • Reviewing and updating risk assessments and safe systems of work for all processes and operational activities
  • Attending monthly operations meetings and providing input on health & safety performance and compliance
  • Delivering toolbox talks, training sessions and safety communications to support risk reduction strategies and strengthen employee awareness
  • Ensuring all contractors meet compliance requirements, including the review of documentation and issuing of permits to work
  • Maintaining accurate records of accidents, near misses and spills, ensuring the database is kept up to date
  • Supporting investigations into incidents and assisting in the identification of root causes, corrective actions and follow-up measures
  • Working alongside Environmental and ROI Health & Safety colleagues to deliver on group-wide compliance objectives
  • Assisting the Compliance & Sustainability Manager in the implementation of an enhanced health & safety management system
What you will need to succeed:
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar Health & Safety role
  • Experience in risk assessment development and implementation of safe working procedures
  • Qualification in training delivery or demonstrable experience providing training
  • IT and numeracy skills (MS Office)
  • Flexibility to travel between sites across Northern Ireland
Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't):
  • Experience managing contractors and overseeing permit-to-work systems
  • Experience delivering training sessions
  • Other relevant Health & Safety certifications
