Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Esher team as an Electrical and Mechanical Technician. Your role will be to perform a range of assigned front-line maintenance/operational activities on our sewage pumping stations in the Esher, Surrey area.This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your “workload” and will also be answering emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone, which highlights the importance of our high health and safety standards.The role also requires you to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out-of-hours emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.Base Location - Esher - Surrey - KT10 8AU.38 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am -3:36 pm.What you should bring to the role as a Mechanical & Electrical Technician
  • You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity. Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship,
  • ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering is crucial.
  • Experience in maintaining, testing, installing and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
  • The work requires you to work in confined spaces with the successful completion of appropriate training.
  • A valid driving licence is essential, and all necessary equipment, such as vehicles and tools, is provided.

  • To be a self-motivated individual who can immerse oneself in the team around, you need to be very disciplined, have the desire to learn from those around you and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times, but very rewarding, too.
  • Take Ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to understand the problem fully, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
  • Teamwork - We are one team, and our end goals are the same.
  • Proactive - take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.

  • Offering base salary up to £45,000 per annum plus a standby & overtime opportunity. increasing earning by a potential £8,000 - £10,000.
