Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Technical Delivery Lead - BMS Strategy to be based at our customer’s site in Gaydon.Our Embedded Systems Solutions department (ESS) encompasses all activities outlined under the Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process framework, including systems engineering, software engineering, coding, and all levels of functional testing. Beyond core development, ESS also integrates critical supporting processes such as project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity, ensuring compliance with ASPICE standards and delivering reliable, secure, and high-quality embedded systems & solutions.The Role:As the Technical Delivery Lead - BMS Strategy you’ll play a pivotal role as the Group Product Owner (GPO), defining technical direction and ensuring cohesive delivery of strategic initiatives across battery system programs. This role blends architectural foresight, program leadership, and agile orchestration to align multiple squads working on BMS functional integration, hardware enablement, and platform evolution.Area of Responsibility:Strategic Technical Leadership· Define long-term BMS strategy, aligning control, software, and hardware roadmaps· Lead architecture reviews and platform harmonization across SDU, CSC, and WGM domains· Champion innovation in battery lifecycle management, energy efficiency, and fault resilienceDelivery Ownership & Squad Coordination· Orchestrate agile execution across squads, driving backlog prioritization and milestone tracking· Monitor dependencies, risk mitigation actions, and integration pathways across software and hardware boundaries· Guide system integration sprints and ensure validation pipelines support strategic deliveriesStakeholder Engagement· Interface with engineering leadership, product owners, and supplier partners to secure alignment· Report delivery health, technical maturity, and investment needs to senior governance forums· Facilitate cross-functional collaboration in scalable design, compliance, and technical strategyContinuous Improvement & Governance· Embed best practices across system design, traceability, and agile tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.)· Promote excellence in software and hardware release cadence, quality, and functional safety adherence· Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and internal governance frameworksKnowledge / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in BMS architecture, strategy, and integration leadership
  • Proven track record in leading product teams across embedded software and hardware domains
  • Deep understanding of battery control systems, CAN-based architectures, and high-voltage safety requirements
  • Strong proficiency with agile program tools, technical backlog management, and squad orchestration
Desirable:
  • Experience driving multi-generational platform strategy in EV, aerospace, or renewable energy sectors
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR software architecture and validation environments (e.g., SIL, HIL)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance near-term delivery pressures with long-term system evolution
  • Confident communicator and decision-maker in fast-paced, cross-disciplinary environments
