As a School Family Outreach Lead, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between the school and families, ultimately creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all.Our partnered alternative provision believes that a strong partnership between educators and families is essential for student achievement and well-being. As a School Family Outreach Officer, you will be instrumental in strengthening this partnership by providing personalised support and guidance to families, particularly those facing challenges that may impact their child's education.If you're interested in this role, contact Will at Balfor on 0121 260 0000 or email your CV to will@balfor.co.ukResponsibilities:Family Engagement: Act as a bridge between the school and families, facilitating open communication and collaboration to support the academic and personal development of students.Needs Assessment: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for families, identifying areas where support and intervention may be required.Advocacy: Advocate for families within the school system, ensuring that their unique needs are recognized and addressed.Resource Coordination: Connect families with relevant community resources, including social services, mental health support, and educational programs.Workshops and Training: Organize and facilitate workshops and training sessions for parents and families on topics such as parenting skills, communication, and educational support.Crisis Intervention: Provide timely and effective support during family crises, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to support.Attendance Monitoring: Collaborate with the school attendance team to monitor and address attendance issues, providing support to families to improve student attendance.Desired Candidate Qualities:Empathy and Cultural Sensitivity: A deep understanding of and empathy for the diverse backgrounds and cultures of the families in the community.Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with families, staff, and external partners.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess family needs and develop practical, effective solutions to address challenges.Collaborative Spirit: Work collaboratively with school staff, external agencies, and community organizations to provide comprehensive support to families.Resilience: Demonstrate resilience and a positive attitude when faced with challenging situations, maintaining a focus on the well-being of families.Confidentiality: Understand and maintain the importance of confidentiality when working with sensitive family information.Experience: Previous experience in family support or a related field is highly desirable.If you are ready to make a positive impact on the lives of students and their families, please submit your application ASAP.
