Summary of PositionRole Title: Quality Manager, FEDepartment: QualitySalary: £45,000 to £50,000Hours of work: Full Time 9am-5pmContract type: PermanentReporting to: PrincipalLocation: Hackney with regular journeys to Free2Learn sitesPurpose of JobThe Quality Manager plays a vital role in continually improving the quality of our of teaching, learning, and assessment in our journey to a world class provision. The post holder will work in alignment with all our key regulatory bodies priorities and expectations, assisting in the development and evaluation of quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.The post is responsible for the overall management and administration of quality delivery across all of the Free2Learn courses and qualifications. Working with Tutors/Assessors, learners, and awarding organizations the post holder will provide monitoring of delivery in line with the quality assurance policy and sampling requirements.The post holder will be responsible for the accurate completion of relevant records, processes and procedures to ensure that Free2Learn is fully compliant in its delivery and strives for improvement year on year.Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Develop Self-Assessment Report and lead, manage, monitor and review the implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Implement the Quality Improvement Strategy across Free2Learn, including the annual quality improvement cycle and all processes that underpin it. Work with managers of learner-facing departments to embed quality improvement processes.
  • Lead responsibility for the contact for Ofsted inspections and inspections by delivery partners.
  • Working with the Head of Teaching and Learning to conduct teaching observations and managing monthly and quarterly training week activities as required.
  • Develop plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Demonstrate expertise in delivering high-quality assurance and compliance engagements, along with an expert understanding of interpreting various funding rules during external audits.
  • Produce and use data reports on a range of measures to monitor progress, including learner attendance, achievement rates, etc. in conjunction with the MIS Team.
  • Manage relationships with awarding organisations and ensure that internal processes meet external standards.
  • Oversee and support the development and delivery of a program of internal compliance testing, providing timely and meaningful information to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Responsible for monitoring and tracking the assessment and verification procedure.
  • Oversee the internal and external verification processes.
  • Oversee the assessment and standardisation processes across the curriculum, ensuring consistency and high standards.
  • Prepare sampling plans for internal verification.
  • Set up, prepare and minute standardisation meetings per quarter within the scope of area of responsibility.
  • Proactively liaise with the MIS department for the continued improvement of the learner experience, progress and outcomes.
  • Be a role model in maintaining a positive culture that embeds the values and beliefs through highly effective communication processes, that ensures learners and staff feel valued, safe and supported.
  • Represent Free2Learn positively and highly effectively in all dealings with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Actively promote the embedding of British Values, Equality & Diversity and Health and Safety
  • Be responsible for taking all appropriate measures to safeguard young people and promote their welfare.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties requested by line manager.

  • Work with Exams and Learner Services to ensure records are available for sampling and viewing when required.
  • Secure productive contacts and links with external organisations, employers and agencies that will benefit learners and provide further opportunities for income generation and collaboration.
Person SpecificationEducation/Qualification and Training
  • A relevant educational qualification, preferably at the postgraduate level.
  • Extensive experience in the field of teaching, learning, and assessment, with a proven track record of driving quality improvement.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted and all other quality assurance frameworks and bodies’ priorities, expectations and judgement.
Experience
  • Developing and implementation of Self-Assessment and Quality Improvement Strategy and Process.
  • Knowledge and experience of internal and external assessment, standardisation and verification processes for a range of Awarding bodies.
  • Successful experience of quality improvement activities and procedures.
  • Experience of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment.
Knowledge/Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of educational technologies and their effective integration into teaching practices.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
