Job Category: FinanceJob Description: About the Role:We're looking for a motivated and detail-driven Finance Data Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team at Next. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in managing and reporting on central cost centres, providing insight to stakeholders, and driving improvements in cost management.You'll be working closely with the Finance Manager - Online Margin Reporting and Central Cost Controlling, alongside two other team members. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong relationships across the business, analysing data, and delivering meaningful financial insights.The ability to manage 50 -60 cost centre managers across the business is critical, combined with an ability to go into a level of detail that most other companies just don't do.What you'll be doing:
  • Managing the month-end accounting process for head office cost centres (Facilities, Security, HR, Legal and Finance), including accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Allocating central costs across business divisions (Retail, UK Online, Label and International).
  • Preparing monthly financial reports, variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
  • Partnering with cost centre managers to review budgets, improve spend visibility, and support with ad hoc queries.
  • Leading on the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Managing the company car accounts, leasing model, and business recharges.
  • Driving improvements in cost management and reporting, including the use of Power BI.
About You:What we're looking for:
  • Previous experience in a commercial finance role, with studies towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
  • Experience of managing large numbers of stakeholders effectively
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence in Excel and other systems to reconcile data and investigate variances.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across the business and present insights clearly.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with ownership of tasks and deadlines.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to get involved in a wide range of responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of SQL/Power BI is desirable but not essential.
