If so, the following permanent role might be for you….On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis.This role is primarily responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.This is a truly brilliant opportunity to join a growing business with a genuine passion for engineering advanced electronics that will benefit our planet and people for future generations.This role offers a unique opportunity for a bright and dedicated graduate / junior engineer to make their mark within production engineering.You will be responsible for:
  • Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
  • Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
  • Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
  • Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
  • Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
  • Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You:
  • Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable)
  • Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement - OEE , Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e. Kaizen.
  • Solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team.
  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
  • Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
  • Microsoft Office experience.
  • Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa.
