Associate Fire EngineerPermanentLondonThe ClientMy client are a new, independent fire engineering consultancy with a team of specialist engineers. They are dedicated to providing exceptional bespoke solutions for all type of developments on time and at competitive rates. They have designed their fee to enable you to include the services that are most important to you whilst remaining within budget. Work packages are broken down into their component parts, each with a clear scope and price.The RoleProvide advice to customer design teams with regard to fire safety in the design of buildings to achieve compliance or improvement on the recommendations of prescriptive guidance and other statutory requirements and legislation.Skills/Responsibilities (Technical)Required technical skills/responsibilities include but are not limited to:· Review drawings and identify basic issues and potential solutions· Produce core RIBA 1-3 deliverables with minimal support· Produce core RIBA 4-6 deliverables with support· Produce other service deliverables with support· Review and respond to technical queries/identifying when support is required from more senior member of staff· Willing to assist and mentor more junior team members· Maintain in-depth knowledge of fire design legislation eg. Building Regs, prescriptive guidance (ADB, BS 9991, BS 9999), Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, Building Safety Act, etc.· Prepare for and attend meetings/workshops and document outcomes· Accrue CPD hours sufficient to contribute to future CEng application· Consistently achieve specified invoicing target over each bonus period· Manage and prioritise own workload· Manage 1-5 small projects independentlyRequired commercial skills/responsibilities include but are not limited to:· OFEQD4.2B· Produce fees for standard projects which generally adhere to prescriptive guidance· Identify commercially sensitive situations and reporting to managementQualifications and Experience· Relevant engineering degree qualification· Minimum 2 years’ experience of working on fire engineering projectsBenefitsPerformance-based bonus schemeBUPA Healthcare insurance10% employer pension contributionsGroup life assurance policy for death in service of £200kPayment of relevant professional subscriptions
