Junior IT Infrastructure Field EngineerLocation – South of Leeds Offices/Customer site visits (50-mile radius)Industry - Managed Service ProviderSalary – up to £33,000 basic + Company carPermanent VacancyA fantastic position has arisen for a Junior IT Infrastructure Field Engineer within an IT Services and Solutions business near the south of Leeds.This position would suit an engineer who has 2 nd Line IT experience working within an MSP/similar environment, wanting to make a move into a field-based role where they can upskill quickly into an infrastructure, networking, and security role—providing hands-on client site support and project activity. This role will offer fantastic training and development within a growing organisation.Further responsibilities within the role will include;
  • Attend customer sites and troubleshoot IT issues which cannot be resolved remotely by the IT Service Desk.
  • Deploy end user hardware such as desktops/laptops and core infrastructure, such as firewalls, servers and networking hardware.
  • Work with a senior engineer to provide end-to-end project delivery and pre/post-project support
  • A mixture of low and high-level IT projects, including basic installation to multi-site complex infrastructure (initially supported by a senior engineer)
  • Work across technologies in key areas, including Windows Server, Cloud (Azure & O365), Active Directory, Virtualisation (VMWare), Exchange and IT security & networking.
  • Provide routine onsite visits to customers within a 50-mile radius of Leeds, dealing with onsite escalations.
  • Provide a technical handover to the Service Desk team.
  • Carrying out site surveys and creating technical documentation.
Requirements:
  • Previous 2 nd line exposure to some/most of the following technologies;
  • Windows Server OS (including roles).
  • Azure, Microsoft 365 \ Exchange \ SharePoint, Intune and AutoPilot.
  • VMWare ESX, vCenter and/or Hyper-V.
  • Backup, Firewalls and Email Security
  • LAN, WAN, VPN and Wireless
  • Ideally have previous experience working within the IT solutions / MSP industry.
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • You should be able to commute to Leeds
  • Role will be roughly 80% field-based, covering a 50-mile radius of Leeds
