Job OverviewA leading removals business are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Clamshell Grab Driver to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries.Hours and Salary
  • Monday - Friday, 50 hours per week
  • £44,200
Responsibilities
  • Operate up to 32T lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and unload goods, securing cargo appropriately for transport.
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while considering road conditions and restrictions.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, maintenance, and customer service.
Requirements
  • Valid commercial driving licence (CPC) and certs for operating of Grab.
  • Proven experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and colleagues effectively.
