The prison houses around 1500 men with a variety of health needs and within this role, youll be an integral part of our safe and secure medicines management service. HMP Garth, a Category B prison in Lancashire. The Mental Health Nurses will be based within the healthcare department but will also be working on the prison wings.Hours:
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8am - 4pm
Hourly Bank Rate:
  • Weekday - £23.00
  • Weekends - £24.79
  • Bank Holidays - £29.75

You will
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
  • Assess patients health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess use sound clinical knowledge
  • You will work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients.
  • You will monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care

  • NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
