We are currently seeking committed & compassionate SEN Care Assistants to join a residential care setting located on a school site, working with children & young people aged 6 to 19 years old who have a variety of Special Educational Needs (SEN).The RoleThis is a full-time role, 5 days a week, and expected to work every other weekend, providing care & support to children and young people with a wide range of needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and behavioural challenges. You will work in a residential home that is part of a school-based provision, helping to ensure consistency between care and education routines.Applicants must have relevant care experience or qualifications, a full UK driving licence, and access to their own vehicle.Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care and personal support in line with individual care plans
- Support with personal care, mealtimes, mobility, and emotional regulation
- Foster a nurturing environment that supports development and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with education & therapeutic teams within the school
- Maintain clear records on behaviour, routines, and progress
- Assist during off-site activities and appointments as required
- Experience/Qualifications: Previous care experience (professional or personal) or relevant qualifications in care or support (e.g. Health & Social Care, CACHE, NVQ)
- Driving: Must hold a full UK driving licence & have access to own vehicle
- Availability: Must be available to work full-time, 5 days a week, working every other weekend
- Skills:
- Reliable, empathetic, and adaptable to complex needs
- Strong communication & ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Confident in supporting challenging behaviour and diverse care needs
- Training:
- Full induction & training provided
- NAPPI training is beneficial but not essential
