The feedback has directly contributed to Newmedica being listed among the UK’s top 50 Best Workplaces™ for 2025.Overview of the roleWe are looking for a new Service Engagement Manager role to join the team, supporting our service in Bradford, and help us continue to deliver outstanding clinical care for our patients. This is a fixed term contract for six months.The Service Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting the development and growth of patient referrals into Newmedica services.This is a full-time, remote role but you will be expected to travel four days per week. Occasional evenings and weekends will be required.So what will I be doing?Working across your designated geographical area you’ll deliver the required referral numbers to your Ophthalmology Joint Venture (OJV) to achieve business targets such as sales and profits plans. You’ll promote Newmedica services and patient choice to deliver referral volumes.You will be highly visible within the community surrounding the OJV location and your practical understanding of the local referral community will help Partners to develop referrer engagement plans and build local relationships with referrers such as Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs.You’ll be the main conduit for our Joint Venture Partners and the Newmedica marketing team regarding referrals. You'll be the eyes and ears on the ground and will have a thorough understanding of competitor activity. You’ll also play a key role in the planning and organising of events such as CPD sessions at the OJVs as well as optical fairs and national seminars.What skills and experience do I need for the role?You’ll have experience within a referrals or sales generation environment. Ideally you will have knowledge of the NHS policy landscape relating to patient referrals, particularly in the ophthalmology sector.You’ll be a resistant self-starter – a strong communicator who is able to overcome challenges and influence people to your point of view.Your friendly and engaging personality will mean that you are adept at establishing effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. You’ll be used to building long term relationships and will understand how to maintain these contacts in a way that will encourage on-going patient referrals.You'll have experience of organising and managing promotional events and your excellent organisational skills will ensure these are always a success.You’ll be comfortable working in a home-based role with a high degree of travel around the OJV that you support. Whilst the core working time is typical office hours, flexibility will be required regarding travel and after-hours events.This role will suit a friendly, engaging and confident person who thrives in a fast-paced, target driven environment.
