
Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant

- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to primary-aged pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist with the implementation of behaviour support plans and individual education programmes.
- Foster a calm, consistent, and supportive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external agencies to support student progress.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction.
- Encourage engagement in learning through tailored strategies and positive reinforcement.
- Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (desirable).
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to remain calm and consistent in challenging situations.
- A full UK driving licence and business insurance (essential).
- Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or care (preferred but not essential).
- An enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
- Competitive daily rate of £86 - £100, depending on experience.
- Full-time, long-term role with consistent support from a dedicated consultant.
