Position Overview:The Head of Financial Reporting is a critical role that will oversee the preparation of all external financial reports for Squarepoint. The ideal candidate will have started their career in a public accounting before moving onto an External Reporting group on the private side.
Preparation of annual external financial reports for all Squarepoint entities, consolidated and stand alone
Ensure compliance with US GAAP/IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements
Interact with external auditors and regulatory bodies
Provide expert advice on technical accounting and reporting matters
Participate in the development of accounting policies and procedures
Support the CFO and other senior executives with financial analysis and strategic initiatives
Drive continuous improvement in the financial reporting process
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in accounting
CPA certification required
Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and proven ability to apply guidance to complex and evolving business scenarios
8+ years of experience
Public accounting experience
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Exposure to technical accounting as it relates to both investment fund accounting and corporate accounting
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have:
Knowledge of financial reporting requirements for physical commodities is a big plus
The minimum base salary for this role is $100,000 if located in New York. This expectation is based on available information at the time of posting. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, which could constitute a significant portion of total compensation. This role may also be eligible for benefits, such as health, dental, and other wellness plans, as well as 401(k) contributions.
