This full-time, long-term position starts in September 2025 and is ideal for an experienced professional passionate about transforming the lives of young people through strong behavioural support and education.About the RoleAs a Behaviour Support Teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for pupils with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. You'll support students in developing positive behaviours, emotional regulation, and academic progress.Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored, engaging lessons to students with behavioural needs
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs and EHCP targets
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
  • Liaise with parents/carers and external agencies to support student welfare
  • Monitor and assess student development and behaviour improvement
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching students with behavioural or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience in UK schools
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to provide professional references from recent employers
Highly Desirable:
  • Team Teach or other de-escalation/restraint training
  • Experience working in PRUs, alternative provisions, or specialist SEMH settings
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed and restorative behaviour practices
