- Lead the management of LGPS Central’s property investment portfolio, targeted to grow beyond £4bn.
- Source, evaluate, and execute UK and global real estate opportunities, including funds, joint ventures, developments, and co-investments.
- Prepare and present clear, robust investment recommendations and due diligence papers for Investment Committee approval.
- Maintain strategic oversight of portfolio construction, performance, risk analysis, and ESG integration.
- Build and manage senior relationships with external fund managers, advisors, and joint venture partners.
- Engage directly with Partner Funds and governance bodies, ensuring transparency and alignment with their objectives.
- Represent LGPS Central externally at meetings, forums, and industry events.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues within the Private Markets team.
- Drive a collaborative, responsible, and high-performing culture, embedding ESG and climate considerations throughout property strategies.
- Contribute to operational and regulatory compliance, ensuring all activity aligns with AIFMD, FCA, and internal frameworks.

- Extensive experience in managing real estate portfolios, including funds, joint ventures, co-investments, and developments.
- Proven track record in sourcing, executing, and managing complex property transactions.
- Experience structuring and negotiating joint ventures and partnership agreements.
- Strong understanding of institutional frameworks, ideally with exposure to pension funds and the LGPS.
- Excellent grasp of regulatory, legal, and operational frameworks relevant to property investments (AIFMD, FCA, RICS standards, ESG).
- Experience in portfolio oversight, risk management, and compliance processes.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence portfolio direction and broader strategy.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, engaging credibly with boards, trustees, senior partners, and external fund managers.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with experience mentoring colleagues and building collaborative team cultures.
- Strong financial analysis and due diligence capability, with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to present complex investment concepts to varied audiences.
- Commitment to responsible investment and embedding ESG principles into property portfolios.
- Bachelor’s Degree - Required
- CFA - Preferred
- RICS Qualification - Preferred
- Has or can meet all the requirements of being an FCA approved person
