We are currently recruiting for a Highways Operative to join our team delivering essential highways works across the Norwich and Norfolk region. This role will support the delivery of kerbing, paving, drainage, and patching activities as part of a dedicated crew.Key Responsibilities:
- Support the efficient delivery of programmed highways works.
- Work as part of a crew to complete tasks to a high standard.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks on vehicles and machinery.
- Report safety observations using the Tarmac reporting system.
- Store all plant and equipment securely at the end of each shift.
- Promote a strong Health & Safety culture with a focus on zero incidents.
- Take part in personal development planning and training reviews.
- Be available for overtime and emergency call-outs as required.Requirements:
Essential:
- NRSWA card
- Experience in highways maintenance or construction
- Full UK manual driving licence (max 6 points)Desirable:
- Machine operator competency certificates
- Experience with winter maintenance/gritting
