Trial Days Available: July 8th to 18thAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (from low to high support), PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance), and speech/language communication differences
- Help young people who may be at risk of exclusion, disengagement, or involvement with the youth justice system
- Use neurodiversity-informed approaches to reduce anxiety, build routines, and scaffold communication and emotional regulation
- Empower pupils to develop resilience, self-awareness, and healthy peer relationships
- Be a consistent, trusted adult in a trauma-informed educational setting
- Youth Justice or Probation Services
- Behavioural or Educational Psychology
- Social Work or Family Support
- Prison, Court, or Community Rehabilitation Services
- Providing structured 1:1 and small group support to learners with SEN, SEMH, and autism spectrum conditions
- Delivering behavioural and sensory regulation strategies tailored to individual neurocognitive profiles
- Assisting with personalised learning plans that reflect emotional needs and academic goals
- Supporting pupils in developing executive function, social reasoning, and life skills
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and families to monitor progress and refine interventions
- Participating in de-escalation and relational behaviour support (full training provided)
- Graduates in Criminology, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or related fields
- Aspiring professionals in safeguarding, social justice, or youth rehabilitation
- Empathetic, non-judgemental communicators with a genuine interest in neurodiversity and inclusion
- Individuals open to learning about autistic identity, sensory integration, and non-verbal communication styles
- Previous experience in education, care, or youth services is welcome but not essential
- A positive, adaptable mindset
- The ability to build rapport and trust quickly
- An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
