We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join one of our new homes.In partnership with our health colleagues, we are opening an innovative residential home for children with complex mental health needs, that also offers outreach services to support relationship building prior to living in the home and support permanency once moving on from the home.The roleWe are looking for a resilient, compassionate and driven person to join our team as a Residential Care Worker, supporting the most vulnerable children with complex needs, who may have mental health diagnosis and display high levels of self-harming behaviour, as well experiencing adverse childhood experiences and trauma.The home will consist of a registered homes manager, two deputy managers, a team of Senior residential staff, residential care workers, wake night staff and health staff.The home will offer outreach work to children who are in distress and struggling with their emotions, to support relationship building prior to them potentially moving to the home, which is a 4-bed short to medium term home registered under the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.The post is a 37-hour permanent contract, and the hours will be worked to cover a twenty-four-hour, seven day a week service. We are looking for staff that are happy to work on a 24/7 rota, including weekends on a rota basis, working bank holidays and unsociable hours. You will receive a competitive enhancement to your hourly rate to cover weekends and working past 7pm on weekdays.The home will be subject to a minimum of one full OFSTED inspection annually.What's needed?Criteria as marked as essential in the person specification is required for this roleThe ability to converse at ease with people within the home, external professionals and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.BenefitsAs well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:
