Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geologist for employment in the Chelmsford, MA or Providence, RI office. This position would support the Environmental business line, primarily working on Federal projects.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Utilizes scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.Prepares technical work plans and reports.Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.Plan, execute, analyze and report on environmental measures in natural systems.Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow managementManages and directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projectsLeads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practicesApply knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to explain observations.Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problemsConduct oversight of subcontractors including laboratories and excavation and drilling companies.Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure complianceAnalyzes financial statements and completes budget trackingPerforms work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area managerOversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studiesPerforms complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project teamSupervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project workConducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvementFlexibility to work on a multitude of projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safetyQualificationsMinimum RequirementsBA/BS in Geology or related field + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid U.S. Driver's LicenseDue to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is requiredPreferred QualificationsMasters Degree in Geology or related fieldProfessional License (PG)7+ years of experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project managementExperience with regulator and stakeholder negotiationsExperience with developing conceptual site models, and preparing remediation strategiesAbility to demonstrate professional demeanor in written and verbal communications with clients, regulatory officials, and fellow employees.OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER CertificationAbility to lift and carry 50 pounds and safely drive a full-size pickup truck.Be medically fit for wearing a respiratorAbility to travel.Additional InformationAbout AECOMAECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
