Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)

Pay Rate: £95 – £113 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-timeAre you enthusiastic about guiding young learners and creating a supportive, engaging classroom environment where they can succeed?GSL Education is looking for a confident and committed Cover Supervisor to work within a friendly and inclusive school in Barnsley. In this role, you will step into lessons during teacher absences, maintaining a positive atmosphere for learning and ensuring students stay on track across different subjects and year groups.Responsibilities of a CS:
  • Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • Ensuring students remain engaged, focused, and on task during lessons.
  • Implementing the planned learning activities and maintaining classroom routines.
  • Supporting students with additional needs when required.
  • Maintaining a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
To be successful as a Cover Supervisor, you should:
  • Have experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Be confident, organised, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
