
Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

- Fault finding, repair work and planned and unplanned maintenance on all instrumentation systems and electrical assets to maximise plant availability. This includes pressure, level, temperature and flow sensors, control systems and some electrical equipment such as motors and variable speed drives
- Carrying out equipment isolations to permit requirements to ensure plant is safe to perform maintenance on
- Assisting during the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment
- Work with the site engineering team on plant improvement projects and upgrades
- Liaising and supervising site contractors when required
- Assisting during site shutdowns when required
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the site CMMS
- An apprenticeship in electrical/instrumentation engineering or similar
- A relevant engineering qualification at HNC/ONC/NVQ level or similar
- At least 4+ years of maintenance experience across control and instrumentation maintenance in a relevant engineering environment – power plant, refinery, paper mill, steel works, chemical site etc.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation e.g., health and safety and environmental etc.
