Behaviour Support AssistantWe are working with a dedicated secondary school based in the heart of Manchester City Centre, committed to enhancing the learning experiences of children and young adults with diverse behavioural needs. The team is passionate about fostering an inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and academic success.Our client is seeking a compassionate and motivated Part-Time Behaviour Support Assistant to join the dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work closely with students who exhibit challenging behaviours, providing tailored support to help them thrive both academically and socially.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Individual Needs: Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to address their specific behavioural challenges and learning needs.
  • Implement Strategies: Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies as outlined by educational professionals, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor Progress: Observe and document student behaviour, progress, and engagement levels, providing feedback to teachers and other staff members.
  • Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage positive social interactions among students, helping them develop essential life skills such as communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and parents to create a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Participate in Training: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in behaviour management techniques and educational practices.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational or support setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A strong understanding of child development principles and behavioural management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) are advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
