
Behaviour Support Assistant

- Support Individual Needs: Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to address their specific behavioural challenges and learning needs.
- Implement Strategies: Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies as outlined by educational professionals, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
- Monitor Progress: Observe and document student behaviour, progress, and engagement levels, providing feedback to teachers and other staff members.
- Promote Positive Behaviour: Encourage positive social interactions among students, helping them develop essential life skills such as communication, cooperation, and conflict resolution.
- Collaborate with Staff: Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and parents to create a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.
- Participate in Training: Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in behaviour management techniques and educational practices.
- Previous experience working with children or young adults in an educational or support setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- A strong understanding of child development principles and behavioural management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching & Learning) are advantageous but not essential.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
