
Calibration Engineer

- Carry out the calibration of internal measuring equipment, such as –
- Mechanical equipment - Crimp, torque, and mechanical measuring equipment.
- Pressure equipment - Pressure gauges, pressure transducers and vacuum gauges.
- Electronic equipment - digital multi meters, power supplies and LCR meters. (This may require traveling to different sites, suppliers, or customers to complete).
- Specialized automated test equipment.
- Where measuring equipment is found to be out of tolerance instigate and report findings via the appropriate Quality Engineer, record the conclusions and make the appropriate adjustments.
- Coordinate and manage the timely withdrawal of all equipment requiring calibration from its place of use with area Managers and return the same equipment following a successful calibration.
- Coordinate and manage the timely calibrations of equipment that cannot be removed from its place of use with area Managers.
- Quarantine equipment that has surpassed its calibration periodicity or not in continual use.
- Coordinate and record shipments to and from subcontracted calibration houses.
- Review incoming calibration certificates and records to determine completeness, accuracy, and suitability in accordance with industry / business standards.
- Develop, update and review Calibration Processes and Procedures.
- Administration and maintenance of the Calibration database on the companies ERP system.
- Analyse, maintain and retrieve Calibration records.
- Train other team members in calibration processes and procedures as required.
- There may be additional activities to perform from time to time to maximize the contribution to Ultra PCS LTD goals and delivering departmental objectives.
- Complete all the above in accordance with Company procedures.
- An interest in problem solving.
- Conscientious and thorough to ensure that required standards are met and the equipment is controlled.
- Able to learn new calibration techniques to support internally developed equipment for our safety critical/niche products.
- Continual Improvement mindset, looking to make the team practices and process better.
- Able to understand technical documentation such as drawings and test specifications that may be used for calibration.
- Ability to be able to communicate to your team and customers clearly so that you can provide an understanding of what state their equipment is in.
- A background in calibration or electronic, mechanical or pneumatic testing / fault finding would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
