- We are looking for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer based in Peterborough or a regional office with hybrid working.
- You will provide technical review and design support for clean water and wastewater infrastructure, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards. Reporting to the Senior Design Manager and Principal Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll lead pipeline engineering reviews, maintain standards, and mentor junior engineers.
- Your role focuses on technical leadership across projects, driving innovation, standardising designs, and collaborating with stakeholders to improve engineering and delivery.
- Report regularly to the Principal Engineer.
- Collaborate with Principal Engineer, Design, and Technical Managers on project milestones and drawing reviews.
- Review drawings and design calculations to ensure quality, safety, and technical standards.
- Liaise with Assurance Lead Engineers at key milestones.
- Manage construction site design queries and change requests promptly and accurately.
- Lead milestone design review meetings with engineers and managers.
- Participate in CDM and commissioning strategy meetings.
- Work with Principal Engineer and Design Managers to identify improvements.
- Coordinate with CAD and Design teams on drawing/model processes.
- Apply risk management principles in design.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Communicate with departments and project teams on design requirements.
- Complete own workload to required standards and manage quality via BIM360 workflow.
- Support other leads and engineers to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Senior discipline engineer with significant relevant experience.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of related engineering disciplines.
- Proven project design and management skills
- Construction experience.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
- Strong IT and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of pipe materials and applications.
- Solid mechanical, civil, and hydraulic expertise, able to develop solutions from first principles.
- Understanding of construction team coordination.
- Extensive design experience with sewerage systems, trunk water mains, and both pressurised and gravity sewerage systems.
