Technical AuthorMorson are currenlty recruiting for an in demand technical author position based with one of our Defence cleints in Bristol. You will be working alongside the Royal navy, authoring for cutting edge Electronic Warfare technological developments. You would be resposible for creating then maintaining the upkeep of both structured and non-structured technical content. The role is being offered on a 12 month contract with an expectation of 5 days a week on site for the first 8 months. We can pay a maximum hourly rate of £57 per hour Umbrella or £43.03 per hour PAYE.Our client support the Technical Authoring team using industry leading software capability, so an ability to adapt is crucial. Yu will develop structured content in compliance with the international specification for Technical Publications, ASD-S1000D Issue 4.1 and applying ASD-STE100. Non-structured content will be developed using MS Word in compliance with UK MOD Technical Publication Standards.Essential requirements
  • S1000D Issue 4.1
  • 5Cs (Technical Writing)
  • You will be educated with a minimum of an HNC (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline and ideally you will have developed some practical experience in mechanical / electrical skills.
  • Able to use Desktop publishing including XML Text Editors, Adobe Acrobat and MS Office
  • Familiar with Digital imaging software
  • Read and use Spreadsheets.

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance, SC must be in place before start date.
