Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (Full Time temporary contract)

Start Date: September 2025Institution: Educational FacilityJob Description:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a small teaching team in the picturesque New Forest. This is to support a child 1:1 mostly for speech and language needs. The position is available to start in September 2025.About the School:The school is based close to Lymington for Infant and Junior Students and is a small 1 form entry school. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and use of indoor and outdoor spaces to expand students’ opportunities and experiences. The school place great value on staff well-being offer support and team building prospects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care and assistance to 1 student needing support at the beginning of their academic journey
  • Having some knowledge of Speech and Language practices would be beneficial
  • Support students in participating in educational activities and lessons.
  • Ensure students’ safety and comfort at all times.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other care professionals to create and implement individualised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any concerns to the appropriate staff members.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as an SEND teaching assistant or similar role (preferably within an educational or healthcare setting).
  • A resilient and hardworking ethos.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate with students, staff, and parents.
  • An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding practices.
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and independence of students.
  • An enhanced DBS check will be required (we will assist with this process if necessary).
