- Able to demonstrate a proven track record with (post apprenticeship) experience of planned maintenance in a highly regulated environment.
- Work in a small team or singularly to deliver a high output of pre-planned maintenance tasks across the client's sites.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machines and equipment by checking for smooth operation of the same and replacing worn and defective parts, as per the scope of the contract.
- Should have the ability to identify damage to assets that do not form a part of the contract scope and produce a bill of materials and identify the time required to undertake the repairs.
- Support the statutory inspection team in identifying non-compliant equipment and carry out inspections if required, LEEA trained would be advantageous.
- Assistance in the preparation of estimates / quotations required.
- Conform to safety rules and apply good engineering and safety practices.
- Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of aerospace ground support equipment and electrical systems would be advantageous.
- Must be willing to undertake company standard internal training workshops and work to GMP (good manufacturing practice).
- Able to operate onsite specific machinery as required, for example nitrogen plant, cranes, forklifts, hangar doors etc.
- The responsibility for allocated work orders from receipt to completion.
- Provision of information on progress of allocated work orders.
- Adherence to all current company procedures.
- Adherence to the Quality Management System applied to all M&E systems
- Developing of relationships with all clients and potential new customers and work within a site team of approximately 20 field and office-based staff.
- Ensuring continuous improvement and drive for value of money
- Willing to work in secure and sensitive environment on an exclusively manned site.
- Qualified to City & Guilds, NVQ or HNC/ HND level in a relevant trade.
- Further enhanced experience/ qualification in a supporting skills or trades to the main qualification would be advantageous, including welding and hydraulic systems.
- Inspection of tooling capabilities through a recognised qualification would be advantageous.
- Experience of aerospace specific systems and tooling.
- Experience of safe working practices and permit to work systems.
- Demonstrable skills in dealing and working closely with the internal and external customers and suppliers on complex and interrelated issues on an ongoing basis.
- Be able to communicate effectively and have a flexible approach to work patterns.
- An airside security pass will be required for the position, candidate must pass DBS and have five years of references
- Driving licence is essential
- UK wide travel maybe required at a short notice.
- Requirement to attend equipment training course, which maybe outside of the UK.
- Always have a company mobile phone on in case the Account Supervisor needs to make contact.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, such as Microsoft Office tools.
- Desire and willingness to adopt change and work with new IT systems that are introduced to drive efficiency in output.
- Role will be based from Heathrow Airport within one of the engineering workshop facilities and the applicants will be deployed from there by the Account Supervisor as per the requirement of the days scheduling.
- The role will require the applicant to remain in the field for the duration of the day and will not call for them to return from their designated day's work area unless advised by the Account Supervisor.
