- Prepare accurate and timely year-end financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and private limited companies, fully compliant with current accounting standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and application of FRS 105 & 102, including (a) disclosure requirements.
- Independently manage workload with minimal supervision; file completion and reporting directly to senior partners.
- Prepare detailed management accounts, including intercompany reconciliations within group structures.
- Process year-end journals within bookkeeping software and assist the in-house bookkeeping team with complex transactions as needed.
- Provide technical expertise and quality reviews of junior staff's work when required.
- Extensive accounting and finance experience within a practice environment.
- Professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE candidates with relevant experience may be considered.
- Proficiency with Xero (essential), Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, VT Transaction & Final Accounts, and TaxCalc preferred.
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Technically minded, detail-oriented, and adept at problem-solving.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable taking sole charge of clients' year-end accounting requirements.
- Experience in training, managing, or overseeing junior staff a distinct advantage.
- Professional appearance and approach with a client-focused, commercially aware mindset.
