If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Recovery Motivator, supporting service users throughout Nottinghamshire to engage with substance use treatment in the community following release from prison. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will work with those who are directly impacted by their own substance use, as well as working with key partners to empower communities.Where: NottinghamshireHours:37.5Salary: £23.400 to £24,466ResponsibilitiesAbout the role:
  • Meet individuals within prison and the community to discuss their personal goals regarding their recovery and encourage individuals to engage with substance use treatment in the community post release
  • Create links with stakeholders and local communities and work to target people affected by drugs and alcohol who are hard to reach – those who are at risk of being recalled to prison, those isolated in communities, unaware of services, or who do not feel services are for them
  • Attend team meetings/group supervision with the aim of sharing good practice and finding solutions
  • Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies
About you:
  • Lived experience of the criminal justice system and a history of drug or/and alcohol use
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills
  • Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental toward Service Users
  • Confident in working alone as well as part of a team
  • Can remain calm under pressure
  • Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available
  • A willingness to undergo Prison Vetting.
