If so, keep reading.At Leonardo in Yeovil, the Home of British Helicopters, we design, develop and deliver aircraft operating around the world including multiple Search and Rescue fleets and Royal Navy Merlin and Wildcat helicopters.The Final Assembly Line in Yeovil is the ideal place to witness these market leading aircrafts take flight!We are currently recruiting for multiple Manufacturing Engineers to join the team on our Final Assembly Line.Whether your background is mechanical, electrical, configuration or you are a recent graduate starting your career in aerospace this could be the opportunity for you.At Leonardo Helicopters, we are dedicated to the training and development of our people therefore experience in all the below disciplines are not essential.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AS A MANUFACTURING ENGINEERRepresenting Manufacturing Engineering in assessing the ease of manufacture in Design Reviewing and acting in a liaison capacity between Design and ProductionCreating Manufacturing Bills of material (BOM) to define build of AircraftCreation of Delivery Standard Documentation (TSD) to support procurement activity to ensure suppliers have a comprehensive and accurate specification for material requirementsResponsible and accountable for the accurate and timely availability of Work Instructions to support the Master Production Schedule (MPS)Processing design changes and introduce into current assembly processIdentification and implementation of improvements to the build process and build logicAmending work instructions on the Production Line to rectify errors and keep the build line movingCompiling SAP Production Orders to manufacture or rework components using on site facilitiesResponsible for identification and requesting of Tooling on the Assembly linesProviding information to support an impact analysis for the efficient introduction of changeProviding estimates of production times to enable accurate capacity planning and cost estimatingThis role is Job Family Frame Engineering Level 4.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOREssential skills:Educated to at least HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline and/or a time served apprenticeshipA knowledge of Mechanical or Electrical Aircraft Systems, depending on own disciplineSome post-training experience desirableAble to use graphics software (Paintshop Pro)Familiar with the Engineering change process and documentationFamiliar with the use of estimating model spreadsheets as provided by work analysis Familiar with Lean Manufacturing techniquesDesirable skills:Working knowledge of CATIA (V4/V5) & ENOVIAUnderstand the principles of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)Working knowledge of the process and output of the Configuration Control Board (CCB)Security ClearanceYou must be eligible for full security clearance.
