Assistant Quantity SurveyorLeicester (office based)About the RoleOur client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial team at their Leicester Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their career in a professional and fast-paced construction environment.You will work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, gaining hands-on experience across a range of projects, from pre-construction through to final accounts. You'll also benefit from mentoring, structured training, and the opportunity to work towards professional accreditation through the APC after an initial settling-in period.Key Responsibilities- Assist in preparing subcontract package documents to issue for tender, upon return assist in the package analysis accordingly.- Support in measurement and valuation of works, including attending site visits.- Assist in reviewing subcontractor applications and managing payment processes.- Monitor variations and support with accurate cost tracking.- Support in preparing interim and final account statements.- Work closely with the project team to ensure commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.- Assist in compiling and reviewing subcontractor packages and documentation.- Maintain clear records and assist in reporting for internal and external stakeholders.What They're Looking For- A degree in BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying or BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.- Strong numeracy and analytical skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel- Excellent written and verbal communication skills- Strong organisational and time management abilities- A team player with a proactive and professional approach- Willingness to learn and develop through formal and on-the-job trainingWhat's on Offer- Competitive starting salary up to £30,000 depending on qualifications and experience.- Support and mentoring for RICS or CIOB APC progression.- Long-term career development and progression opportunities.- 32 days' holiday per year (24 days plus bank holidays).- Employee Assistance Programme (including support for dependents).- Cycle to Work Scheme.- High street discount platform.- Regular social events and a supportive working culture.About the CompanyOur client is a leading manufacturer and contractor in the bespoke joinery and construction interiors sector.
