Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Near Rhoose – Full-time – £25,000 – £35,000 per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join an established construction team based near Rhoose. This is a full-time, permanent position with a strong focus on social housing projects across the Vale of Glamorgan.The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support both refurbishment and new build schemes, helping manage procurement, contract control, and financial reporting as part of a skilled team delivering quality results.Key Responsibilities:
  • Send out subcontractor enquiries
  • Assist with financial control over assigned contracts
  • Procure key sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Submit variations, valuations, and final accounts
  • Monitor and sign off subcontractor accounts
  • Participate in tendering processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
  • Conduct post-project cost analysis and lessons learned
  • Ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are upheld
  • Produce monthly reports for Directors
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of Quantity Surveying experience
  • Background in social housing (refurbishment and new build)
  • HNC, diploma, degree or equivalent in Construction or related field
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and written communication
  • Ability to work under pressure to deadlines and budgets
  • Confident reading technical drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable attending meetings with clients and design teams
  • Self-motivated and organised
