- Be responsible for the day to day running of the laboratory.
- To process biological samples in accordance with research protocols and lab manuals.
- Organise and coordinate clinical trial and research studies in accordance with International Conference on Harmonisation Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP) and best practices.
- Provide data management and administrative support for all aspects of Clinical Trials and Research Studies in the Unit.
- Contribute to providing a professional clinical trials laboratory service by working alongside the Research Delivery Team in the Clinical Research Department, undertaking duties to support research staff in the preparation and processing of complex biological samples. This will be achieved by carrying out clinical, technical or scientific tasks using a wide range of practical and theoretical knowledge following written Laboratory Procedures/Sample Guides and taking responsibility for completion of tasks and areas that have been assigned to the post holder.

- Knowledge of range of non-routine healthcare science duties acquired through training, experience to Vocational Qualification Level 3 or equivalent level plus additional theoretical or applied training in specific discipline to diploma equivalent level
- Knowledge of laboratory computer systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office
- Knowledge of developing and managing databases
- Knowledge of manipulating data to provide reports and presentations
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures
- Good Clinical Practice Certificate.
- Significant Laboratory Experience
- Experience of Medical Procedures
- Good Laboratory techniques
- Manual dexterity
- Excellent communication skills
- Good keyboard skills and computer literacy
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Ability to maintain concentration.
