The Job Summary:Wrightbus, Europe’s fastest-growing production company, is seeking a skilled Calibration Technician. You’ll handle calibration, testing, and equipment maintenance to meet ISO 9001, industry, and regulatory standards, while coordinating external service providers. Strong technical expertise, sharp organizational skills, and a dedication to quality and precision are essential.The Role:
Key Tasks:
  • Perform routine and non-routine calibration of instruments and equipment according to documented procedures and traceable to national/international standards (e.g., UKAS, ISO 17025, NIST).
  • Maintain and manage calibration schedules and ensure timely calibration of all tools and instruments.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates, and documentation in compliance with ISO 9001, company procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment that is out of tolerance or malfunctioning; recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Review and develop calibration procedures and work instructions.
  • Use calibration software and electronic tools for data entry and reporting.
  • Support audits and inspections by providing calibration data and documentation.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to maintain equipment reliability and traceability.
Skills
  • Proficient in using hand tools, calibration instruments, and precision measurement devices (e.g., torque tools, calipers, micrometers, multimeters, thickness gauges)
  • Strong understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, and quality standards
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and datasheets
  • Knowledge of calibration software and Microsoft Office Suite
Requirements
  • HNC/HND in electrical or mechanical engineering or related field
  • OR An apprenticeship qualification
  • 2+ Years hands on experience in calibration or metrology
  • Ability to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection techniques, and defect analysis.
  • Working knowledge of quality procedures and practices
  • Working knowledge of Tool Calibration
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
  • Use of metrology for inspection - measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
