- Closely monitoring tool owner equipment performance against specified targets, ensuring any issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring spend on their tool and keep to a minimum whilst maintaining required performance levels.
- Ensuring relevant maintenance documentation and spares are available to meet required performance.
- Operating a continuous improvement strategy to bring tools to best possible condition.
- Liaising with tool vendor to stay up to date with and identify equipment enhancements which may improve process quality or equipment reliability.
- Liaising with tool vendor to ensure the tool performance meets the field bench-marked levels.
- Monitoring tools for part obsolescence issues and ensuring plans to cope with part failure exist.
- Participating in new tool selection, installation and implementation into the fab/process.
- Ensuring that quality and safety standards and procedures are implemented on the defined equipment set.
- Providing expert technical support to shift engineers on tool owner tools.
- Providing maintenance support to shift engineers when resource levels are low.
- Providing technical training to equip staff on tool owner tools as required.
- Working closely with the process tool owner to ensure tool process performance remains as expected.
- A degree of out of hours support may be required on occasions.
- Covering or assisting other dayshift tool owners when required which may include working on unfamiliar tools.
- Project work on various tool improvements will be required from time to time.
- A minimum HNC in Electrical or Electronic or Mechanical Engineering is preferred or suitable experience.
- An understanding of all 3 disciplines (must be able to follow electrical drawings and circuit diagrams to facilitate tool trouble shooting).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in high tech maintenance environment.
- Semiconductor equipment Engineering experience would be an advantage.
- Equipment tool ownership experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent team working and effective communication skills.
- High level of computer literacy with ability to use Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc.
- Ability to multi-task and work safely and effectively without close supervision.
- Solid understanding of electro/mechanical systems which can be applied to new equipment types (how complex equipment systems operate).
- Proven troubleshooting analytical skills and the ability to demonstrate this.
- Strong fault finding techniques and problem solving skills
- Experience of leading teams and taking responsibility for team performance would be an advantage for future role development.

- Be prepared to work 1 weekend in 3 shift pattern.
