We are building a dedicated team of Children's Support Workers to support a bright and joyful 11-year-old boy living in Carlisle with quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He lives at home with his family, including four other siblings, and requires 1:1 support 24/7, including overnight care. Full Training will bep rovided. This is more than a job, its a chance to make a genuine difference to his, and his familys life, while becoming part of a close-knit, supportive environment.Main duties of the jobThis young person has complex care needs but we employ our own Nursing team who will give you full training and you wont work solo until you are fully competent. You will support him with:
  • Nursing care including PEG feeding and oxygen therapy
  • Manual handling
  • Personal care
  • Medication administration
  • Physiotherapy and attending medical appointments
  • Support with communication, community access, and holidays
  • Being part of family outings, hospital stays, and emergency situations where needed
  • Shifts are 12 hours, covering both days and waking nights. This case operates on a 4 day on 4 day off basis completing a week of days and a week of nights.
This young person has complex nursing and care needs but we employ our own Nursing team who will give you full training. You wont work solo until you are fully competent.
