Finance Systems AnalystTeam: Applications and Development
Location: We have a blended work to your diary approach where we flex where, when and how we work with attendance at our hubs when required.
Reporting to: Finance Systems ManagerThis role is part of the maturing of our IT organisation, adding specialisation and technical knowledge into the Finance Systems team to help us support our IT project portfolio and current technologiesAssist with the maintenance and continuous improvements of the finance systems to improve the service we provide to our stakeholdersWorking as part of a large and friendly team providing assistance on all aspects of finance system work.
Support the management, maintenance and technical ownership of the Firm’s Practice Management System (Aderant Expert 8.2) and other finance related applications
Advise the Finance team on design, processes and setupWhat you will be doing:The immediate priorities are:
  • Supporting the management accounts function through systems-based analysis, data reconciliation and process improvement
  • Supporting the Finance function with system-related processes and trouble shooting
  • Providing technical and analytical support to end users and ensuring that they can use the tools and processes effectively
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation relating to systems, processes and procedures
  • Acting as a subject matter expert and sharing knowledge and best practice with other team members and stakeholders
Key AccountabilitiesResponsible for technical aspects of financial controls within the finance systems including data integrity, data balancing, system configuration, data extraction and data conversions
Control and audit of regular procedures which ensure the system and data integrations are performing as designedSystems Support:
  • Assist with month/year end tasks
  • Validate financial data
  • Troubleshoot user queries
  • Test features
  • Assist with UAT
  • Ensure data accuracy across Finance modules
System Analysis
  • Analyse existing financial systems to identify areas for improvement and potential solutions
  • Identify opportunities to streamline, improve and automate finance processes
  • Collaborate with Finance and project teams to improve finance workflows
  • Streamline repetitive tasks through automation and system enhancements
  • Support audits and internal controls
What you will need:
  • Strong understanding of finance systems, server and database structures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial processes and accounting rules
  • Solid understanding of financial control and reconciliation practices
  • Demonstrable knowledge of accounting systems gained within the legal sector
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL server and related products (SSRS, SSIS)
  • Experience with Aderant legal software an advantage
