- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Ability to interpret OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals, method statements (MS), and risk assessments (RA), ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
- Diagnose and repair complex faults in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems.
- Lead the rigging and de-rigging of BSL-owned equipment in accordance with OEM procedures both on and off site.
- Support the development of apprentices and junior fitters through mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Use telematics systems to monitor equipment performance and assist in fault diagnosis.
- Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance using company templates and schedules.
- Perform basic welding (non-structural) and flame cutting as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
- Accurately complete and submit daily timesheets within 24 hours.
- Maintain a personal tool inventory and ensure tools are kept in good working order.
- Report incidents, near misses, and improvement suggestions via the 1App.
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and foreman with planning, stock control, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain company vehicle in accordance with company policy handbook.
- Be prepared to travel overseas with some notice - either to job site or OEM visit.
