Job Title: Cover Supervisor – Secondary SchoolsLocation: NewhamStart Date: September 2025Contract Type: Flexible Supply Work (Full Day, Half Day, or Hourly Cover)Salary: £90-£110 per day (depending on experience)About the RoleWe are currently seeking enthusiastic and dependable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in the Newham area on a flexible, supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining further experience in education, supporting teaching and learning, and working within a vibrant classroom setting.As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain focused and complete the set work. This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or experienced professionals seeking flexible work in education.Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise secondary school classes in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-set lesson materials and encourage student engagement throughout the session.
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour in accordance with each school’s behaviour policy.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding class performance and behaviour.
  • Be available for morning callouts, full-day cover, half-day sessions, or hourly bookings as needed.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people is preferred but not essential.
  • Confident communication skills and good classroom presence.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new school settings and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply before starting work).
  • Availability starting September 2025 with flexibility for short-notice cover work.
