- Assemble electrical control panels by mounting components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), relays, circuit breakers, and terminal blocks, following detailed schematics and technical drawings.
- Wire panels with precision, connecting sensors, actuators, and interfaces like touch screen HMIs, ensuring compatibility with features like precision seaming and air drying units.
- Perform comprehensive testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional checks, using tools like multimeters and insulation testers to guarantee panel reliability and safety.
- Route and label cables meticulously within panels, using conduits and ties to maintain organization, facilitating efficient maintenance and troubleshooting for clients.
- Support the integration of control panels into complete canning systems, collaborating with mechanical engineers, automation specialists, and production teams to ensure seamless operation.
- Maintain detailed records of wiring configurations, test results, and modifications to support quality assurance and future servicing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to panel designs or assembly processes, aligning with our focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Occasionally assist with on-site installations or remote troubleshooting, leveraging our 24/7 support framework to minimize client downtime.
- Proven experience in panel wiring or electrical assembly, ideally within automation, manufacturing, or food processing industries.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings, with knowledge of AC/DC systems and components like PLCs, servos, and inverters.
- Proficiency with tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, and insulation testers for precise assembly and testing.
- Familiarity with UK electrical standards (e.g., BS 7671) and safety protocols, particularly for food-grade environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable work under tight deadlines.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting.
- Relevant qualifications, such as City & Guilds in Electrical Engineering, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or an ECS Card, are highly desirable.
