- A specialist setting supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism and Speech & Language challenges
- Located in a well-resourced area of Lewisham with excellent leadership and collaborative staff culture
- A strong and supportive SLT focused on CPD, wellbeing, and inclusion
- Key Stage 2 (Years 5 & 6) with 9 pupils
- Supported by 2 experienced Teaching Assistants
- Pupils working below age-related expectations (P Levels)
- Needs include ASD, communication difficulties, and some behaviour challenges
- Class Teacher will have both academic and pastoral responsibilities, including EHCP contributions
- Planning and delivering engaging, tailored lessons
- Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment
- Using behaviour strategies that foster confidence and self-regulation
- Collaborating with families, therapists, and the wider team
- Adapting the curriculum with strategies like Makaton, PECS, or sensory-based learning
- Supporting pupil wellbeing, including physical activity and emotional literacy
- Contributing to CPD and collaborative staff development
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
- Experience in UK Primary settings, ideally with SEN learners
- Confident communicator with strong classroom management skills
- Knowledge of Autism, speech and language strategies, and communication tools (Makaton/PECS/ABA - desirable)
- A proactive, reflective, and nurturing teaching approach
