- Team Management: Oversee and lead a diverse team of skilled Fabricators, Welders, Press Brake Operators, Paint Sprayers, and Assemblers. Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement efficient production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines. Coordinate with sales, engineering, and procurement departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of products.
- Quality Control: Establish and maintain high-quality standards throughout the production process. Implement quality control measures and conduct regular inspections to ensure all products meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Process Improvement: Continuously analyze and optimize production processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to streamline operations.
- Resource Management: Manage inventory levels, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation to ensure optimal utilization of materials and machinery.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations. Conduct regular safety training sessions and implement measures to maintain a safe working environment.
- KPI Management: Develop, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Cost Control: Monitor production costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality. Prepare and manage production budgets.
- Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest manufacturing technologies and recommend the adoption of new tools and equipment to enhance production capabilities.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as engineering, sales, and procurement to ensure alignment of production goals with overall business objectives.
- Customer Satisfaction: Ensure that production meets customer requirements and deadlines. Address any quality issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.
- Apprenticeship/Time served Fabricator/Welder.
- 3-8 years of experience in a production management role, preferably in the fabrication or sheet metal industry.
- Proven expertise in fabrication processes, sheet metal work, welding, press brake operations, and assembly techniques.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Proficient in using production management software and ERP systems.
